16-year-old UK school girl has higher IQ than Einstein

A 16-year-old schoolgirl in the UK is believed to have an IQ higher than Einstein after scoring a record 161 on the Mensa brain test, according to a report.

Lauren Marbe stunned her teachers by scoring 161 on the Mensa brain test after she was entered with other pupils from her school.

The teenager loves fake tanning, having blonde highlights, manicures and getting glammed up for TOWIE parties with her friend, the 'Daily Mail' reported.

However it appears that as well as being very pretty, she also has a beautiful brain. Lauren's amazing brain test score means she is brighter than physicist Stephen Hawking, Bill Gates and even scientist Albert Einstein - who all have an IQ of 160.

Einstein never took an IQ test as none of the modern intelligence tests existed during the course of his life, but experts believe he had an IQ of around 160.

Soon, petrol prices may change daily

NEW DELHI: Soon, petrol price could move daily just like in the US, Europe and Brazil. The oil ministry is pushing state-run fuel retailers to revise the price every day in tune with international rates and the rupee's value against the greenback.

Top government sources said the idea is being discussed at the top level of the ministry and the brass of fuel retail companies. IndianOil Corporation, the country's largest fuel retailer, has been tasked to draw up a note on the concept.

Admittedly, it is early days. "The idea is very much on the high table. But a formal proposal is yet to be drawn up," a ministry source said in response to TOI's query. Fuel retailers review petrol price on the 15th and last day of each month.

Vodafone blocks Aircel SMSs for not paying fee

CHENNAI: Vodafone has blocked all short messaging services (SMSs) to the Aircel network over the issue relating to non-payment of termination charges. Airtel had already blocked Aircel just before Diwali.

This leaves Aircel consumers with no SMS access to the two biggest telecom operators in the country. While Airtel had issued a blanket ban on SMS to phones on the Aircel network covering the whole country, Vodafone has blocked Aircel in only Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu, New Delhi and Karnataka.

The Aircel spokesperson confirmed Vodafone's action to block SMS services between the two operators. The spokesperson also said that the dispute landed at the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) on Thursday for resolution but the hearing has been deferred till Friday. Vodafone declined to comment on the issue.

Google services may be shut down in Egypt

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/thumb/msid-18485183,width-300,resizemode-4/google1.jpgCAIRO: Egypt's telecommunication authority said that all Google services must be shut down to fully suspend YouTube in the country over an anti-Muslim film.
Head of Egypt's National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority Abdal-Rahamn al-Sawi said that in order to shut down YouTube in Egypt, as per a court verdict, all Google services must be shut down as Google provides its services over several servers.
The Egyptian administrative court had ordered that video-sharing website YouTube be blocked for a month for hosting the anti-Islam film that triggered deadly outrage across the Muslim world last year.

The court obligated that Egyptian authorities take measures to block access to the site for a month, after a complaint by an Egyptian who accused YouTube of being a "threat to social peace" by putting the US-made film on line.

See why Google is paying Apple $1billion

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/thumb/msid-18479130,width-300,resizemode-4/1/3rd-YouTube-India-viewers-access-videos-on-mobile-Google.jpgSYDNEY: Google will pay Apple one billion dollars next year to keep its position as the default search engine in iOS, a report has claimed.
The financial services firm came to the figure in a report titled "The Next Google is Google" after taking a closer look at how Google makes and spends money in the mobile space.
Morgan Stanley analyst Scott Devitt based the figure on the fact that Google and have a deal in place which sees Apple reap a certain amount of money per device sold with Google.com as the default search engine, the Age reports.
Devitt estimated the cost Google has been paying to Apple per device has been growing year-on-year and that so too has the number of iOS devices Apple has sold.
Because of this, he estimated that Apple would in 2014 be raking in about one billion dollars from Google for the privilege of keeping Google.com as iOS's default search engine ahead of rivals Bing and Yahoo.

According to the paper, the deal Google has with Apple is similar to one it has with the makers of the Opera and Mozilla web browsers, which both have Google.com as the default search engine.
Morgan Stanley reported the Mozilla Foundation is expected to get 400 million dollars in 2014 in its deal with Google, the paper said.

Infosys to mentor 16 start-ups in UK

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/thumb/msid-18469501,width-300,resizemode-4/infosysblr2.jpgBANGALORE: India's second largest IT company Infosys said it will assign a local mentor to 16 of the United Kingdom's emerging digital, wireless, and mobile software technology companies visiting Bangalore during their inaugural Web Mission 2013 to India.

Britain's most promising start-ups are on an entrepreneur-led trade mission to Bangalore and New Delhi this week with the aim of developing new relationships and opening up their business to the Indian market.

Some of these firms such as BuffaloGrid, aim to provide a mobile charging facility in rural areas in areas Africa and India which get little or no electricity, at five cents of charge an hour. Others such as Ambiental digitally map flood risk in a region, to help insurance companies decide on premium charge for a region.

Infosys hosted the first major session in Bangalore and will provide each company with a UK-based mentor to support them and drive business opportunities in the sub-continent.

During the session at the Infosys campus in Bangalore, Infosys Executive Co-Chairman S Gopalakrishnan, spoke to the entrepreneurs about the early stages of Infosys as a Pune based start-up, founded in 1981. "Not that long ago, Infosys walked in the same shoes as these entrepreneurs," Gopalakrishnan said.

"We built our business to become a global company in three decades, so I hope to bring some lessons about entrepreneurship in India to these companies. We are supporting them both in India and, after they return to the UK, helping and advising them on how to capitalize on the opportunities for emerging technology companies in the Indian market."

Bruce Hellman, the chief executive officer of uMotif, one of the Web Mission companies, said: "Once a small business itself, Infosys knows exactly the challenges we have in building our company, and I know that working with a global leader will help uMotif open doors and identify opportunities that might take much longer otherwise. I am particularly looking forward to exploring how Infosys can help us take our patient-focused adherence and self-care software to the Indian market."

In the past it would be Indian outsourcing firms scouting for business in markets such as UK, Europe's biggest market. But with a recessionary climate in Europe, the tech trend seems to have reversed. In 2011, UK exports to India increased by 29% - the country's largest non-EU export market.

The Mission is supported by the Technology Strategy Board and UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), alongside other private sponsors. The eighth in a series of Missions organized, it is designed to help successful early stage businesses accelerate their growth potential overseas.
